When people think of senior fitness, they usually think of walking, maybe some light weights, or water aerobics. All great tools. But what’s often missing from the conversation—and most training programs—is intentional balance training.
Why does this matter?
Because falls are the #1 cause of injury-related death and disability in adults over 65. And most falls aren’t caused by weakness—they’re caused by poor reaction time, postural shifts, and lack of stability.
Balance isn’t something that improves passively. It has to be trained.
That’s why I build balance into nearly every session with my older clients. That might mean reactive drills using Blaze Pods, unilateral strength movements, or core work that improves center-of-gravity control. The point is: it’s deliberate, progressive, and it works.
If you’re aging, recovering from injury, or just tired of feeling unsteady on your feet, don’t wait until something breaks. Start training for balance now.
