You Don’t Have to Be Fit to Start—You Just Have to Start

There’s a quiet lie that keeps a lot of people out of the gym: the idea that you have to “get fit” before you hire a trainer or walk into a workout space. That you need to look a certain way, move a certain way, or be able to keep up before you’re allowed to begin.

That lie stops people from healing. It stops people from starting.

The truth is: You don’t have to be fit to start. You just have to start.

Every single client I’ve ever worked with began where they were. Some came in with pain. Others with fear. Many with a deep sense of shame or self-doubt. But they all showed up—and that was the bravest part. Progress didn’t come from perfection. It came from showing up consistently and allowing themselves to be coached, corrected, and encouraged.

You don’t need six-pack abs to belong here. You don’t need perfect knees or a perfect past. You just need the courage to begin. And the right trainer to guide you through it.
